The Following Criteria is hereby established by the Town Hall meetings for the provisional election of African Diaspora Representatives. Persons interested in being listed on the ballot must meet the following qualifications set forth by the people of the African Diaspora located in the Region of Central America

My career reflects a lifelong commitment to cultural advocacy, whether through teaching the Garifuna language, empowering domestic violence survivors, or representing clients who shape global narratives. I am uniquely positioned to inspire and motivate the next generation while honoring the sacrifices of those who came before us."
DECLARACION PERSONAL Yo Roy Guevara Arzu, mayor de edad con más de 45 años de formar parte de las dirigencias afrodescendientes (garífuna), siendo parte de los principales impulsores del proceso organizativo de los pueblos originarios (indígenas) y afros en honduras, Centroamérica, sur América y el caribe hispano, aseveración manifiesta en mi curriculum organizativo adjunto mismo, que describe mi trayectoria y compromiso con la lucha reivindicativa de nuestros pueblos en la Región. Por otro lado, adjunto documento redactado por investigador y escritor Mark Anderson sobre mi rol en el proceso organizativo y reivindicativo de estos pueblos en honduras durante la década de los 80s. Tengo información sobre mas de 5 dirigentes de diferentes países que han enviado cartas de respaldo hacia mi candidatura a efecto de representar a Centroamérica en la instancia de VI REGION en ECOSOC.
I am convinced and confident that I possess the skills, experience, and personal qualities necessary to excel as a representative for the 6th region. Deep Understanding of the Region: Having lived and worked in the region of Central America, for more than 30 years, I possess an intimate knowledge of the area's unique Challenges, opportunities, and cultural nuances. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated effective leadership skills, successfully managing teams, projects and initiatives that have positively impacted the community. I am an exceptional communicator, able to articulate complex ideas, listen actively, and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. I am driven by a genuine passion for public service and a commitment to improving the lives of constituents.
In our region, where governments traditionally fail to recognize Indigenous and African Descendant peoples, it is crucial that we organize ourselves independently to advocate for our rights and representation. For over 25 years, I have dedicated my efforts to advancing political and economic inclusion within my community and the broader region, using communication as a transformative tool. Through my work in broadcasting, I have established a strong connection with the Creole community, where a significant majority resonate with my vision for progress and are prepared to embrace the necessary changes. This trust and influence reflect not only my ability to communicate effectively but also my commitment to empowering marginalized communities. My experience in advocacy, coupled with my leadership and deep understanding of systemic inequities, positions me as a strong candidate to drive meaningful change. I bring a proven track record of mobilizing communities, fostering dialogue, and championing inclusion to address the challenges that affect us all.
